I'd like a tall skinny mocha con crema y azúcar, please!

*Sexy Randy Nota Loka from "Jowell y Randy"

OMG, since the beginning of time, I have loved the male species. I have had the rainbow coalition as boyfriends, toyfriends, or torrid little crushes. And I still have to say that a beautiful man is just a beautiful man to me, and he could be purple, red-head, tall, short, whatever. But I find that I always have the biggest soft spot for guys that can make me laugh, and I thought I was over slim men (okay, cuz I dated a memorable one who wasn't slim, but rather thick and I found that sexy as hell, too!!). However, it seems that I will forever love my Slim Jims...and as I grow, I find that maybe I do have a "type" after all, and, much to my mother's dismay, I don't really get turned on by a man in a suit. (Sorry ma!)
Okay, the younger man thing has been pretty much forever with me, since I was about 21 or so. I have a theory about men and age and looks....I've dated enough men to know that they can ALL act like complete asslicks from time to time. Fine, I realize they have periods too, minus the Kotex. But I'll just say this, (and ladies, this is where you should take notes): If I have to learn to rationally deal with the same amount of attitude and -isms of any one particular man, I might as well get him JUST like I want him and not settle on one of those "concept" boyfriends, because whoever I end up with, I have to learn him and he has to learn me. "Concept" boyfriends, you know, the ones that, on paper, seem to have it all - good job, good living situation, educated, drives this, wears that, etc etc etc, can be nice guys or assholes, depending. Either way, if the CONNECTION (my word this year) is not there, it's just not.
I briefly had a Miami surgeon trying to talk to me when I first came back to Miami. Yeah yeah...I can immediately see some chicks drooling at the thought, but eww. There were alot of reasons I wouldn't go there at the time (obviously) but again, even IF....uh, no. Just ew. Forget all the potential zeroes on his checks, there was just ZERO connectability, and that's minus all the framework.
So if you gotta put in the work anyways, why sell yourself short and accept less than you want? Put it like this: Just remember that thing (I think its name was Michael) that Robin slept with in Waiting to Exhale, just because he appeared to be a good "concept" boyfriend. And you see how satisfied she was? My point exactly.
Alas, I've accepted that I like what I like in my men, and although I get teased about my suitors being skinny (that's "Marc Anthony" sexy!), or light ("He could be your brother!" LOL), or whatever, it's what makes the dating pool equal out, so we don't all the like the same guys (my friends and I usually have NO problem about EVER liking the same guy LOL).
Ahhhh, dating....if it was an Olympic sport, how many of us would REALLY qualify?? Cuz there are no real rules, and I sure as hell don't know what I'm doing, but I'll keep enjoying finding my way.
